A Few Frequently Asked Questions

Scottish Country Dancing?
Don't you have to be Scottish or have Scottish ancestry to do that?

Not at all.
It's the style of dance that's Scottish and it is enjoyed by people in many countries throughout the world.

Do you do all that leaping around and dancing over swords and things like that?

Err.. no.
That sounds a bit like highland dance -
try the highland games!

Do I have to get dressed up in a kilt or wear tartan sashes and things like that?

No. Some people choose to do so,
especially when they attend organised dances or festivals but it is entirely up to you.

What would I have to wear then?

Just ordinary, everyday clothing
that permits freedom of movement.
If you take to it then no doubt you will want to invest in a pair of 'proper' dance shoes but to start with a pair of sensible,
comfortable, flat shoes will suffice

Do I need to bring a partner?

No. You will find yourself dancing with various partners throughout the course of the evening.

Do I need to bring anything else with me?

YES!
You need to bring a sense of humour and a big grin on your face.
Leave the rest to us.

The only remaining question is: What are you waiting for?
