Scottish Country Dancing? Don't you have to be Scottish or have Scottish ancestry to do that? |
Not at all. It's the style of dance that's Scottish and it is enjoyed by people in many countries throughout the world. |
Do you do all that leaping around and dancing over swords and things like that? |
Err.. no. That sounds a bit like highland dance -
try the highland games! |
Do I have to get dressed up in a kilt or wear tartan sashes and things like that? |
No. Some people choose to do so,
especially when they attend organised dances or festivals but it is entirely up to you.
|
What would I have to wear then?
|
Just ordinary, everyday clothing
that permits freedom of movement.
If you take to it then no doubt you will want to invest in a pair of 'proper' dance shoes but to start with a pair of sensible,
comfortable, flat shoes will suffice
|
Do I need to bring a partner?
|
No. You will find yourself dancing with various partners throughout the course of the evening.
|
Do I need to bring anything else with me? |
YES! You need to bring a sense of humour and a big grin on your face.
Leave the rest to us.
|
|
The only remaining question is: What are you waiting for? |
|
Unless, of course, you can think of something else, in which case get in touch |
